SHIPPING & RETURNS
The Beautiful Bed Company strives to deliver your purchase with excellent service and ultimate care. On delivery of your pieces, you will be asked to inspect and sign for 'Received in Good Order’. Please be sure to check all contents before signing for delivery. There are several delivery methods we use. Oversize and heavy items will arrive via White Glove Freight delivery. Furniture will be carried into home, and be assembled onsite (if needed). The shipping company will contact you prior to delivery to schedule a date and time convenient to you. Someone must be at home to accept and thoroughly inspect the item prior to signing for the delivery. Any damages that resulted during delivery should be reported immediately and the delivery refused, as the freight shipper would be liable. If the delivery is not refused, then all claims are null and void. Concealed damage must be reported within 24 hours of receipt.
Smaller pieces of furniture, accessories, and fabrics will be boxed and shipped via FedEx or UPS Freight or Ground delivery. We will email you prior to shipping with a tracking number and details. Any damages that resulted during delivery should be reported to us immediately. All packaging materials must be kept and we require documentation/photos of the item and the box to submit a claim to the shipping company. Concealed damage must be reported within 24 hours of receipt.
If we are delivering to remote locations or high value areas such as NY, we reserve the right to quote these locations on a per shipment basis.
All orders/design trade orders will be shipped freight collect and shipping charges estimated at the time of order. The customer is responsible to ensure that all furniture will clear elevators, stairs, doorways, etc. Any claims for damaged goods must be settled by the customer and freight company and are not the responsibility of The Beautiful Bed Company. ALL DAMAGE CLAIMS MUST BE DIRECTED AND HANDLED THROUGH THE SHIPPING COMPANY. All orders are available to be picked up FOB from our dock in Los Angeles, CA.
HEAVY ITEM CHARGE
For large and oversize items, we charge a flat rate of $375/item. Heavy items will ship via White Glove Freight delivery. The shipping method and charge is noted on each product under the “shipping" tab.
LIGHT ITEM CHARGE
Smaller pieces of furniture will be boxed and shipped via FedEx or UPS Freight for a flat rate of $275/item. The shipping method and charge is noted on each product under the “shipping" tab.
BASIC GROUND CHARGE
This is only available for smaller “non-furniture" items such as fabric yardage, accessories, and knobs, which will be shipped via FedEx or UPS. The shipping cost is based on the order total as shown below. “Order total" is the total price of fabric yardage, knobs and accessories included in your order. We will email you prior to shipping with a tracking number and details.
FINISH SAMPLES, SWATCHES, CUTTINGS
The Beautiful Bed Company paint and finish swatches ship for a charge of $7.95 per 3, and will be sent via UPS or USPS. Each fabric cutting costs $5 and will be sent with free shipping, and arrive via regular USPS delivery.

For our international customers, we can deliver your furniture to the port of export. We build a solid wood crate suitable for international shipping and provide a commercial invoice. The Beautiful Bed Company Collection Furniture is artisan made by hand, in southern California. We are proud to use the term, Hand Crafted in the USA. Each piece is solid wood and crafted using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Hand finished pieces and wood characteristics will vary, knots, cracks and variations in the wood are seen as the character of the piece and are not defects in any way. We carefully inspect each item prior to shipment and also require your inspection and signature upon delivery. However, if you discover a defect in your furniture, please contact us prior to signing acceptance of delivery. The Beautiful Bed Company's furniture and upholstery pieces conform to samples display on the website. Measurements are an approximation, and photographs are considered a representation of the merchandise and may not be an accurate representation of the color. The Beautiful Bed Company cannot guarantee the grain and texture of wood and painted surfaces, the natural patinas of wood, the dye lot of fabrics, or the finished color on any other materials. Slight variations in size and color can be expected.Return Policy
MADE TO ORDER FURNITURE: The majority of our products are made-to-order and for that reason we cannot accept returns. These pieces are non-cancelable, non-returnable and non-refundable, with the exception of manufacturer defects. Damaged merchandise will be replaced with identical merchandise where possible. We carefully inspect each item prior to shipment and also require your inspection and signature upon delivery. Transit damage is not considered manufacturers defect. Damage in transit, though unfortunate, sometimes does happen. Should damage occur the freight company reserves the right to repair. Most repairs are done in-home, to prevent the piece going back into the transit system.
It is the purchasers responsibility to ensure that furniture pieces fit through the entry way. Furniture that is refused because it does not fit through entry way will be refunded minus a 30% restocking fee. Return freight fees will be the responsibility of the customer.
Please note: Returns are not possible on any Custom or Bespoke items you have ordered (unless manufacturers defects), as these are specially commissioned items personalised for you, such as items made to a custom size or finished in a custom color. To avoid disappointment, please check whether an item is returnable before ordering.
NON-FURNITURE ITEMS: The Beautiful Bed Company fabric by the yard is cut to order. For that reason we cannot accept returns. Paint is non-returnable and non-refundable, with the exception of manufacturer defects or damages. Knobs and pulls are able to be returned within 14 days. Please contact us to request a Return Authorization (RA), and your card will be credited when we receive them back. Shipping fees are non-refundable, and the cost of return shipping is your responsibility. If an item is damaged or defective, it will be replaced or the amount credited back to your card.
WHITE GLOVE FREIGHT SHIPPED ITEMS: We carefully inspect all our products prior to shipment. While unfortunate, damages do sometimes occur while in transit, which is why it is essential that you thoroughly look at each item over once it arrives at your home. Freight shippers will bring furniture inside your home, but please refuse the delivery, and do NOT sign for the item if you have noticed any damages. Inform the shipping company of the damage and contact us immediately. It is also especially helpful if you can document the damage with photos. We will initiate a claim with the shipping company and make every effort to repair the damaged products as soon as possible. If the delivery is not refused, then all claims are null and void.
For our Design Trade Partners all furniture is shipped “Free On Board”, which means as the pieces leave our factory ownership transfers to our Trade Partner. Our Design Trade Partners can arrange their own freight service by selecting the Click & Collect option at check-out.
We offer a service of securing a freight company on our Design Trade Partners behalf. Each freight quote provided includes a service fee. By accepting the freight quote you are bound by the freight companies Terms & Conditions that can be viewed on each companies individual website. Should transit damage occur it is critical that is it identified and noted in writing at the time of delivery. For damage that occurs in transit the Freight Companies reserve the right to repair rather than replace.
LIGHT ITEMS: Light items are boxed and shipped via FedEx or UPS freight delivery. We carefully inspect all our products prior to shipment, but damages do sometimes occur while in transit. You may not be present when the package is dropped off, but if you notice any damage after opening the box, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. For us to submit a claim to the shipping company and get a replacement item for you, it is essential that you provide us with photos of the damage as well as photos of the shipping box. All original shipping materials must be retained for us to either credit you back or replace the item.
