Once an order is placed, how long before it is shipped?

If you selected from our Quick Ship Collection, your order will leave our workshop in 8 weeks of order acknowledgement/payment. All other pieces ship in 12 weeks. Custom furniture can take up to 15 weeks.

What is you furniture made of?

All our furniture is made from 100% solid hard wood. Our wood of choice is select alder, this is sustainable harvested in Washington State. We can also build from premium woods such as Walnut and White Oak.

What does “handmade furniture” mean?

All our furniture is made to order. Our Artisans use traditional methods of wood working to make each product. Our pieces are made using traditional carpentry techniques, such as mortise & tenon joints.

Upholstered furniture states COM required - What does this mean?

We require the customer to supply fabric and trim for upholstery. We can supply plain linens or velvets if needed. All COM is sent to us at 'Customers Own Risk' meaning we cannot be responsible for the cost of the fabric should damage or loss occur.

Are your paints durable and what finishes do you offer?

We use the highest quality pre-catalyzed lacquer paint product for durability, satin finish comes as standard, we can offer high gloss at an up-charge.

What does “hand-finished” mean?

Each piece is finished by hand by our highly trained Artisans.

Can I specify a custom paint color?

Yes, when placing your order please select Custom Color and notate a paint color reference. We will match to the color your specify. For quality control please send us a paint swatch of your selected color.

Are stained finishes more expensive?

Stained furniture does take more time in finishing.

Do I need a Box Spring/ Foundation with my bed?

Yes. All mattresses require a solid base for good even support. We recommended a low profile foundation of 3 inches tall. The Beside The Seaside Bed requires a Foundation of 6 inches tall.

How high will my mattress be off the floor?

The desired height from the floor to the top of the mattress is generally 28 inches. Most of our bed support slats sit at 12.5 inches off the floor.

What foundation / mattress support comes with our bed?

For beds Full thru King size we send 'Glideaway' steel bed slats. For Twin bed we use wood slats.

Why do you ship metal slats over wood?

For beds wider than a Twin size we prefer to use steel bed support. Our bed support of choice of Glideaway support with 3 centre steel legs. Over time wood slats can wear and break. If you prefer to receive wood slats over metal please just specify this by emailing us and quoting your order number.

Can your beds fit my Adjustable Bed Base?

Yes! The ideal is to select an adjustable base with removable legs and one that does not have too deep a base. This way it can drop into an existing bed frame. If you Bed Base must remain free standing we cna build our beds to sit around/ frame the base. We will need to build the bed larger than the base. This is considered a custom bed order.

Is my bed delivered and assembled?

Yes, all our beds are shipped White Glove Delivery. This means that the bed is assembled in your room of choice.

What if my bed does not fit through my doorway?

You have responsibility to take measurements before ordering a bed to ensure it will fit into your home. All our beds are made as solid pieces, the Headboard being the largest piece. Furniture that is refused because it does not fit through entry way will be refunded minus a 30% restocking fee. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Can I customize my furniture?

Due to the unknowns of creating something new, we only take custom orders from Trade Professionals.

How long should my furniture last?

If well cared for your furniture piece should last a very long time. Each piece is made from solid wood. We do not use plywood, particle board or veneers.

How long have you been in business?

Our original business was established in 1994. This developed into The Beautiful Bed Company which was launched in 2016.

Can I pick up my furniture order from your workshop, to save on shipping?

Yes, please select the Click & Collect option at check-out. You can pick up directly from our workshop in Gardena, California. Please contact us by email to arrange a time.

What is the cost of delivering my furniture?

We offer a flat rate fee depending on the distance from our workshop.

Can I return my furniture?

No, all custom furniture pieces are made-to-order. For that reason we cannot accept returns. These custom pieces are non-cancelable, non-returnable and non-refundable, with the exception of manufacturer defects or damages. We carefully inspect each item prior to shipment and also require your inspection and signature upon delivery. However, if you discover a defect in your furniture, please contact us prior to signing acceptance of delivery.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept Check, Bank Deposit, PayPal or all major credit cards. We have a 3% processing fee for credit card payments.

How is tax calculated on my order?

We charge 10.5% sales tax only on orders that ship within the state of California.

Shipping and return charges are non-refundable.

Why should I buy a Beautiful Bed Mattress?

Because we use the highest quality 100% Natural Latex available to give you the highest quality of sleep—toxin-free, healthier for you to sleep on, longer lasting, and body-contouring.
100% Natural Latex is sap from a rubber tree that is naturally hypoallergenic, in addition to being dust mite, mold, and mildew resistant. Latex offers a healthier sleep compared to most foam used today, as synthetic foams crumble or emit fumes.

Where are your mattresses made?

We build all our mattresses right here in Southern California using only high quality, natural materials and employing traditional handcrafted techniques with modern innovations, so you get sound, healthy sleep—night after night.

Where do you source your materials?

All of our products are hand-crafted, manufactured, and packaged in Southern California, with the exception of Joma wool which is sourced from New Zealand. Joma wool has unique physical properties that give it superior performance and make it ideal for use in bed materials. It is hypoallergetic, fire resistant, and long-lasting. This fabric regulates your temperature and resists mildew and stains. Additionally, the processing of Joma wool requires very little environmental impact, and so it is environmentally sustainable.

Do you make custom-sized mattresses & foundations?

Absolutely, each mattress is hand-crafted to order, we can customize the content and size to fit your needs. We can upholster our Foundations with COM to make it an integral part of the bed design.

What is a mattress topper?

The Beautiful Luxury Mattress Topper is a 3 inch deep, natural latex cushioned topper that rests on top of your mattress. It adds a plush layer of luxury. We recommend this with our Beautiful Bed Luxury Retreat Firm Mattress.

Can you embroider my wedding anniversary onto my mattress?
